PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sharpen both sides of a kitchen knife at the same time just by inserting the kitchen knife into a slit and sliding it back and forth. SOLUTION: A pair of opposed sectorial rotary grinding wheels 1 are positioned on the right and left facing each other with the phase of the rotary angles mutually shifted by 90 degrees, and are brought together and one of the opposed sectorial rotary grinding wheels is inclined so that a locus drawn by a rotation of right and left sectorial grinding surfaces 2 facing each other draws a V-shaped intersection point 3 when seen from the front. Driving gears are fixed to each opposed sectorial rotary grinding wheels 1 and positioned so that the right and left opposed sectorial rotary grinding wheels 1 synchronously rotate. Therefore, both sides of a kitchen knife can be whetted at the same time just by inserting the kitchen knife into a slit and sliding it back and forth. |
