PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new ubiquitin-specific protease gene encoding ubiquitin- specific protease having a specific amino acid sequence and useful for producing the above enzyme helpful for therapy of diseases relating to heterochromosome such as ganglioneuroblastoma, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, rhabdomyoblastoma or the like, or the like. SOLUTION: The objective gene is a new ubiquitin-specific protease gene including a base sequence encoding a protein having an amino acid sequence of the formula and useful for therapy (especially gene therapy) of diseases relating to locally regional disorder of chromosome such as ganglioneuroblastoma, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, rhabdomyoblastoma or the like, for diagnosis of diseases of the central nervous system and for screening and evaluation of their prophylactic or the like. The gene is obtained by extracting mRNA from human fetal brain, human adult artery, placenta or the like, by constructing cDNA library using the mRNA in an usual manner and by screening it according to immunological screening using an antibody specific to the protein or according to plaque hybridization using a probe specifically binding to the objective DNA sequence, or the like. |
