PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an uncomfortable feeling to a driver when power assist control is ended. SOLUTION: This brake device comprises a master cylinder 10; wheel cylinder 50; reservoir 72; three-way valve 57 connected to the master cylinder, wheel cylinder and reservoir to make the master cylinder 10 selectively communicate with any of the other members; pump 82 capable of forcedly supplying a brake fluid in the reservoir to a wheel cylinder side; normally-closed pressure reducing valve 70 switching a communicated condition of the wheel cylinder and the reservoir; power assist control means switching the three-way valve to make the master cylinder communicate with the reservoir when a fixed condition is materialized to supply the brake fluid by the pump to the wheel cylinder also to change a supply amount thereof in accordance with brake operation; and a pressure reducing valve control means switching the pressure reducing valve to an opened condition for a fixed time before switching the three-way valve so as to make the master cylinder communicate with the wheel cylinder, in the case of ending power assist control.
