PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically attach a seal packing to an outer peripheral face of a valve body of a spear valve without requiring man power. SOLUTION: The seal packing attaching apparatus 15 comprises a valve body support 16 for supporting a valve body 20, attachments a, b which are detachably combined with the valve body 20 to guide a seal packing 90 or the like, and a push-in part 22 for pushing the seal packing 90 or the like guided by the attachments a, b in an axial direction of the valve body 20. While the valve body 20 is combined with the attachments a, b, the push-in part pushes in the seal packing 90 or the like guided by the attachments a, b into an axial direction of the valve body 20.
