PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant fuel injection characteristic at all times by detecting a current value which flows an electromagnetic solenoid for controlling fuel injection, detecting a time from a time when ON/OFF of a command signal is switched to a time when the current value exceeds a prescribed value, and correcting a command pulse according to the detected time. SOLUTION: In a unit injector, a needle valve 16 of a fuel injection nozzle 15 is lifted up/down on the basis of ON/OFF of an electromagnetic solenoid 17 so as to control fuel injection, and the electromagnetic solenoid 17 is current- carrying controlled by an ECU 11. In the ECU 11, a command signal is generated according to a target injection rate and an injection timing decided on the basis of an engine operating condition. In this case, a current value of driving current which flows the electromagnetic solenoid 17 is detected by a detecting means. A time from a time when ON/OFF of the command signal is switched to a time when the current value exceeds a prescribed time is detected, and a command pulse is corrected according to the detected time.
