摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously prevent the discharge of soot and NOx, to properly control combustion pressure when the combustion pressure is improper, and to properly control the combustion pressure of all cylinders even when combustion pressure detecting means are not arranged on all the cylinders. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine is provided with a detecting means for detecting variations in combustion of each cylinder, and the variations in combustion of each cylinder is corrected on the basis of output value of the variations detecting means. A combustion pressure detecting means for detecting combustion pressure within a combustion chamber is arranged within a combustion chamber of any cylinder. At the time of executing low-temperature combustion wherein an EGR gas amount supplied into a combustion chamber 5 is more than the EGR gas amount at a peak of generation amount of soot, and wherein soot is hardly generated and after correcting the variations in combustion of each cylinder on the basis of the output value of a crank angle sensor 42, the air-fuel ratio or the combustion injection starting timing of all the cylinders is controlled on the basis of the output value of a combustion pressure sensor 47 arranged on any cylinder.
