PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin having good adhesive strength to metal plates and PET films by copolymerizing a specific phosphorus-containing dicarboxylic acid compound and adjusting a phosphorus atom content, a glass transition temperature, and a relative viscosity within specific ranges, respectively. SOLUTION: This copolyester resin comprises one or more dicarboxylic acid components (for example, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, adipic acid or sebacic acid) and one or more glycol components (for example, neopentyl glcol or ethylene glycol), and is copolymerized with a phosphorus-containing dicarboxylic acid compound of the formula (R is H, methyl, ethyl, phenyl or the like) [for example, 2-(9,10-dihydroxy-9-oxa-10-oxide-10-phosphophenanthren-10- yl)methylsuccinic acid]. The copolyester resin has a phosphorus atom content of 0.05-5 wt.%, a glass transition temperature of 30-40 deg.C and a relative viscosity of 1.0-1.6. |
