PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable cam phase device capable of avoiding a trouble such as galling by reliably operating a lock pin. SOLUTION: A vane member 12 connected to a cam shaft is rotatable to the delay side or the advance side by hydraulic pressure, the vane member 12 is held in the most delay position by fitting a movable body 21 to a fitting part 24 by hydraulic pressure in turning to the delay side, and the turning movement of the vane member 12 is allowed by separating the movable body 21 from the fitting part 24 by hydraulic pressure in turning to the advance side, and an energizing member 23 for energizing the movable body 21 to the fitting part 24 side is provided. Therefore, the movable body 21 is reliably fitted to the fitting part 24 by aid of the energizing member 23.
