LIGHT TRANSMITTING OR TRANSPARENT BARIUM TITANATE AND ITS PRODUCTION

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a nano-structural light transmitting sintered compact transparent as PLZT and manifesting size effects in optical characteristics thereof in a BaTiO3 sintered compact. SOLUTION: This light transmitting or transparent barium titanate sintered compact comprises a tetragonal BaTiO3 prepared by sintering a high-density and transparent dried gel comprising a pseudocubic BaTiO3 grain obtained by drying and shrinking a wet gel prepared by an alkoxide method to <=2% moisture content at normal temperature to 50 deg.C under atmospheric pressure and having <=50 nm grain diameter, >=2.4 g/cm3 density and substantially <=10 nm pore diameter and having a substantially suppressed increase in the pore diameter at the time of growing the crystal grain by heating to >=90% density and having 0.1-1 μm crystal grain diameter and the pore diameter substantially suppressed to <=10 nm.
