PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rust inhibiting primer for an aluminum die casting part having a sufficient corrosion resistance and being capable of forming a film which is hard to melt under pressure even if fastening a bolt. SOLUTION: This rust inhibiting primer for an aluminum die casting part comprises (1) an urethane-modified epoxy resin having a number average mol.wt. of 2,000-12,000, a glass transition temp. (Tg) of 40-100 deg.C and a hydroxyl group value of 150-300, (2) a melamine resin, (3) a non-chromium type rust inhibiting pigment, and (4) an extender pigment. A film of the rust inhibiting primer coating is formed on the surface of an aluminum die casting part, over which a film of a top coat is formed. |
