PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DNA that encodes orotidine-5'-1-phosphate decarboxylase having a specific amino acid sequence and is useful for preparation of a transformation system for Rhizomucor filamentous fungi. SOLUTION: This gene codes for a protein that has (A) an amino acid sequence represented by the formula, or (B) the amino acid sequence represented by formula (A) where one or a plurality of amino acids are substituted, deleted, inserted or added, or further added in the reverse direction and encodes the protein having orotidine-5'-1-phosphate decarboxylase activity. A filamentous fungus in Rhizomucor pusillus is transformed with a recombinant vector including this gene and cultured in a culture medium to produce the objective protein. |
