PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accumulate articles by pushing and delivering them without pulling them down and to certainly transfer the articles in the accumulated state to a feeding conveyor on which an article storage section is formed. SOLUTION: An article transfer device 10 is arranged between an introduction conveyor 13 and a feeding conveyor 12. An article storage body 16 partitioning a plural number of article storage spaces 14 in parallel in the moving direction of the feeding conveyor 12 is arranged on the article transfer device 10 free to move in the cross direction. Upper carriers 20a, 20a on which articles 11 are placed, middle carriers 20b, 20b and lower carriers 20c, 20c are arranged in three stages with intervals slightly larger than height of the articles 11 in the vertical direction on each of the article storage spaces 14. A pushing member carrier 22 furnished with a pushing member 15 to push and deliver the articles 11 facing against each of the article storage spaces 14 toward the feeding conveyor 12 is arranged on the article transfer device 10 free to move in the longitudinal and cross directions.
