PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antifouling sanitary ware by coating the unglazed surface of a pottery with a glaze layer comprising a vitreous component comprising SiO2, Al2O3, bivalent metal oxides and alkali metal oxide(s) in specified proportions with the MgO content of the bivalent metal oxides including MgO, CaO and ZnO standing at a specific value to readily remove foulings on the surface of the glazed pottery. SOLUTION: This antifouling sanitary ware is obtained by coating the unglazed surface of a pottery with a glaze layer comprising a vitreous component; wherein the vitreous component comprises 55-80 wt.% of SiO2, 5-13 wt.% of Al2O3, 11-28 wt.% of bivalent metal oxides, and 1-7 wt.% of alkali metal oxide(s); the MgO content of the bivalent metal oxides is 10-30 mol%; the glaze layer may contain a pigment such as iron oxide(s) or cobalt oxide(s), an opacifier such as tin oxide(s) or zircon silicate, and/or the like, other than the vitreous component; the vitreous component may contain TiO2, V2O5, and/or the like other than the above-mentioned ingredients; the alkali metal oxide(s) to be used is e.g. Na2O, while the bivalent metal oxides e.g. MgO and the like.
