PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip disposer of simple structure to decrease the bulk of chips produced by machining. SOLUTION: A cutting machine 1 includes in its lower section a chip conveyor 2, which cantilevers a coiling transfer shaft 8 in a chip chute and rotates it via a reduction-gear motor 6. The coiling transfer shaft 8 offers a spiral effect to deliver chips to a chip crusher 3 along the chip chute. The chip crusher 3 includes a pair of parallel and mutually shiftable press rollers 22 and 26 normally pressed into angular close relation by a coil spring. The press roller 22 is rotated by a drive motor in the opposite direction via a reduction gear 24, such that both press rollers 22 and 26 compress or crush chips passing between them.
