PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a float by furnishing a float body where a slit groove is formed vertically with an openable element for opening/closing the slit groove to enable the float body to be attached to a fishline so as not to run slipping off by merely closing the slit groove with the openable element after inserting the fishline into the slit groove. SOLUTION: This float is obtained by vertically providing the outer surface of a float body 2 with a slit groove 6 with a fishline insertable thereinto followed by furnishing the resultant float body 2 with an openable element 3 for opening/closing the slit groove 6. It is preferable that the openable element 3 is provided with a slit groove 7 with a fishline insertable thereinto and mounted on the float body 2 so as to be turnably movable between an open position where the slit groove 7 nearly coincides with the slit groove 6 and a closed position where the slit groove 7 does not nearly coincide with the slit groove 6.
