PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sandblasting abrasives capable of being removed without causing environmental pollution, and a sandblasting method. SOLUTION: A sandblasting abrasive composition comprises an organic compound composed of organic bonds by coordinate bonding excluding ionic bonding and having a water of crystallinity, and a sandblasting method comprises sandblasting an object with the sandblasting abrasive composition and then, removing the abrasive and ground scrap by air-jetting and/or washing with water. As the organic compound, a sugar such as glucose, lactose, fructose and a water soluble starch such as dextrin can be exemplified.
