PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to sit and stand without setting back a chair, to use the back as a handhold at this time and to have improved safety in order to provide the chair adequate for a pregnant women, a person of advanced age or a physically handicapped person. SOLUTION: This chair includes a leg body 1 which is stably contactable with the ground and a seat 2 and back 3 which are supported on the leg body 1. The seat 2 is, thereupon, horizontally swivelably supported at the leg body 1. The back 3 is so formed that the back can be fixed to the leg body 1 on the rear and any one side of the seat 2 and that the top end thereof may be used as an armrest.
