PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the vibration of a car based on operating conditions by providing a means for switching a speed controller by respective means of a detection of an elevator load, a command of a driving direction, and a detection of the driving speed and the car position before/after the driving. SOLUTION: Loadage is detected by a load detecting circuit 13 from a load detecting device 12 installed in a car 7 and the elevator speed is detected via a speed detecting circuit 15 from a rotary encoder 14 directly connected to a motor 1. A motor current is detected via a current detector 16 and a detecting circuit. The loadage, the elevator speed, and the motor current are speed controlled by a microcomputer circuit 19 via an input circuit 18, generate PWM pulse signal, are amplified in a gate drive circuit 20, and set to the gate signal of an inverter 4. Before starting the elevator, the loadage information of the car 7 is obtained from the load detecting circuit 13 so that an acceleration command pattern is obtained by an acceleration pattern generating circuit from the driving speed and direction decided by the car call and hall call. The speed controller is switched by a switch only in vibrating time in backlash of a decelerator 5.
