PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove an odor constituent by thermal decomposition by burning dust and a hydrocarbon compound contained in a thermal decomposition exhaust gas from a waste plastic dechlorination apparatus. SOLUTION: A hot air generator 15 is employed as a heating source of a waste plastic dechlorination apparatus A for separating chlorine contained in waste plastics as hydrogen chloride gas and chlorine gas by heating and thermally decomposing the waste plastics, and a thermal decomposition exhaust gas including the hydrogen chloride gas and the chlorine gas from the apparatus A is neutralized by a base and then introduced to the hot air generator 15 and heated so as to burn dust and a hydrocarbon compound contained in the thermal decomposition exhaust gas and thermally decompose an odorous constituent at the same time.
