PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device in which an automatic shift mode and a manual shift mode can be used in combination so that a shift lever is directly shifted into a shift groove on the manual side from the D-range. SOLUTION: A shift lever 11 is journalled to a housing of a shift lever device so as to be rotatable in both longitudinal and crosswise directions of a vehicle body, a branch lever 16 is horizontally projected, orthogonal to the shift lever 11, and an engaging groove 16 to and from which the shift lever 16 is engaged and disengaged is formed in a cable coupling lever 15 which is journalled so as to be rotatable in the longitudinal direction, the engaging groove 19 being composed of an oblique groove 17 formed being inclined toward the front part side of the vehicle body, and a straight groove 18 communicated with the oblique groove 17 and extended downward, having a predetermined length. |
