PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw driver capable of surely holding a machine screw to prevent fallout of a machine screw and shorting due to such fallout. SOLUTION: A driver shaft 1 is covered with an insulating cylinder 10 to be moved forward and backward, the tip of the insulating cylinder 10 is provided with a machine screw head holder 8 formed of soft elastic cylindrical material, when the insulating cylinder 10 is slid to the forward position or screw-rotated, the machine screw head of a machine screw engaged with the tip of the driver shaft 1 is held by the machine screw holder 8, and when the insulating cylinder 10 is slid to the backward position, or turned, the machine screw holder 8 is located in a position where to release holding for the machine screw head of the machine screw engaged with the tip of the driver shaft 1.
