A sliding clasp fastener comprises fabric stringer tapes 7, 8 each carrying a continuous coil type element 9 the loops of which terminate short of an end of the tape and a terminal member 14 or 15 of moulded plastics material having a body portion moulded around the edge of the tape immediately beyond the end of the loops, and a flexible finger 19 integral with the body portion extending along the edge of the tape through a plurality of the loops, the finger having transversely extending projections 21 engaging between the plurality of the loops. As shown, in which the fastener element is stitched to the tape through a cord 11 thereon, the terminal marker 15 of one stringer is secured in a channel 17 of a retainer element 16 which also provides a second channel 18 for the terminal element 14, both terminal elements being threadable through a slider 13. The front face of each finger 19 is formed with depressions 22 for accommodating head portions of the companion fastener element. |
