PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic imitation wood fitted with an annular ring wherein a tree bark pattern is formed on the outer peripheral surface of imitation wood and an annular ring pattern different from the tree bark pattern and near to an actual tree is formed on one end surface in the axial direction of the imitation wood and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A process for longitudinally inserting a mandrel 28 into the cavity 25 of a mold 6 having the longitudinal cavity 5 for molding imitation wood, a process for attaching the rear surface of an annular ring cap 84 having a tree annular ring pattern formed on the surface thereof to the leading end of the mandrel 28 in a freely detachable manner, a process for longitudinally advancing the mandrel 28 into the cavity 25 of the mold 6 until the surface of the annular ring cap 84 comes into contact with the inner surface of the mold 6, a process for injecting a molten resin into the cavity of the mold 6 and a process for filling the mold 6 with the molten resin and leaving the annular ring cap 84 in the mold 6 before or after the perfect curing of the molten resin to pull the mandrel 28 out of the cavity 25 longitudinally are provided.
