PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent clogging of nozzle by sealing an ink ejection opening with a seal liquid, unsealing the ejection opening when ink is ejected depending on an image signal and sustaining that state thereby sustaining the seal liquid in constant state when ink is ejected without requiring any external force or switch. SOLUTION: In an ink ejection opening 13, a seal liquid 2 is arranged on the head surface 11 such that an ink 1 does not touch the air and the seal liquid 2 touches the ink 1 in the ink ejection opening 13 to form a film on the surface of the ink. The seal liquid 2 and the ink 1 must be insoluble each other and must not be emulsified spontaneously. Liquid face of the seal liquid is push opened by ejecting an ink drop, wettability to the seal liquid is lowered on the periphery of the ink ejection opening 13 by means of a heater and a holding means 20 having a wet resisting region 21 at the outer fringe is provided. Upon finishing print operation, the seal liquid 2 forms a film again by surface tension thus sustaining the effect for preventing the ink from drying up.
