PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically reuse a waste liquid by effectively removing a heavy metal from the waste liquid in regeneration treatment of marine product waste and the like by capturing a heavy metal sulfide contained in the waste liquid in the process of treating the marine product waste by using a solid medium and removing the heavy metal from the waste liquid. SOLUTION: A polluted water containing a heavy metal existing as a sulfide is treated by separating and removing a trace of a heavy metal sulfide dispersed in the water. The treatment process comprises a step of coarsening crystals of the heavy metal by transferring the treatment object water in a space within a solid medium, and a step for separating the coarse-crystal heavy metal from an aqueous solution. In the process of facilitating coarsening of the crystals, a heavy metal containing water in the medium having a low water passage resistance is made to pass. As the medium, a chelate resin or the like such as weak acid type or the like having a chelate forming group capable of capturing the heavy metal sulfide is preferable. For separation of the heavy metal, a well-known solid/liquid separation method is used for separating precipitates.
