PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molding material which has excellent strength, heat stability, heat strength and anti-fouling property by making the material contain aluminum hydroxide having specific whiteness and acrylic syrup comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer and a vinyl monomer. SOLUTION: A molding material of the present invention contains 300-600 pts.wt. of aluminum hydroxide having whiteness of 80-97, an average diameter of 3-50μm, specific surface area of 1.8-2.5 m2/g and DOP absorption of not less than 33 l/100 g and 100 pts.wt. of (meth)acrylic syrup comprising 7-80 wt.% of thermosetting (meth)acrylic polymer and 93-20 wt.% of a vinyl monomer such as styrene or the like. The compound for sheet molding preferably contains 30-300 pts.wt. of aluminum hydroxide and 100 pts.wt. of (meth)acrylic syrup and the compound for bulk molding preferably contains 150-600 pts.wt. of aluminum hydroxide and 100 pts.wt. of (meth)acrylic syrup.
