PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire to reduce the generation of noises in the vicinity of 250 hz. SOLUTION: In this tire, a pair of right and left damping rubber layers 7 are arranged on the tire inner side of an inner liner 6 or between a carcass ply 2 and an inner liner 6. The length M of a periphery in the section of the tire meridian of the damping rubber layer 7 is 50-200% of the periphery length L of a carcass ply 2 running from the position A of the tire maximum width of the carcass ply 2 to a position B wherein a perpendicular passing through the end of a belt and axially vertically extending crosses the carcass ply 2. Further, the thickness of the damping rubber layer 7 is lower than the thickness of a side rubber 4 at the intermediate point C of the periphery length L, and the weight of the damping rubber layer 7 is 10-100% of the weight of the outer rubber layer of a side rubber 4 and/or a tread 5 positioned on the tire outside with the carcass ply 2 nipped therebetween.
