PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and easily make an NC program by arranging a controller for displaying a specific image screen on a display unit by switching image screens according to order for displaying plural specific image screens when selecting one of plural typical work examples by a selecting switch or a button. SOLUTION: When selecting a button of large number taking work of multiwork by a pointer, a 'work selecting' image screen is displayed on a display unit 8 by a controller 9 according to order stored in a storage device 6. An area surrounded by a quadrangular frame in this work selecting image screen is displayed by respectively grouping work shapes according to a characteristic. Thus, the work shapes fit for a work shape of desired electric discharge machining can be easily searched. The respective work shapes are displayed as buttons together with a three-dimensional pattern. Next, the image screen is switched to a 'work plan' image screen for setting required data required for working a columnar bottomed shape such as the depth of a work hole. The required data is inputted to an input item.
