PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material excellent in abrasion resistance by blending an unmodified fluorine resin and a modified fluorine resin obtained by irradiating a fluorine resin with ionizing radiation in a specific dose in an inert gas atmosphere having a specific oxygen concentration while being heated to or above its melting point. SOLUTION: A fluorine resin having a heat of crystallization of 50 J/g or less is irradiated with ionizing radiation in a dose of 1 kGy-10 MGy in an inert gas atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 10 Torr or less while being heated to or above the melting point to form a modified fluorine resin. A sliding member comprises a fluorine resin molded article containing 10-90 wt.% of this modified fluorine resin and 90-10 wt.% of an unmodified fluorine resin. The fluorine resin includes tetrafluoroethylene-based polymers, tetrafluoroethylene/perfluoro(alkylvinylether)-based copolymers and the like. The ionizing radiation includesγ-ray, electron ray, x-ray, neutron ray, high energy ion and the like.
