PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high cooling performance by directly introducing the cooling water of a low temperature from a cylinder block side to the space between the valve seats of the suction/exhaust valves of the cylinder head side and the periphery of a fuel injection valve. SOLUTION: A fuel injection valve 2 is installed and suction/exhaust valves are arranged on a cylinder head 1, and a water jacket 11 for introducing a cooling water to the periphery of these fuel injection valve 2 and the suction/ exhaust valves is formed inside the cylinder head 1. A cooling water introducing route 21 passing the space between respective valve seats of the suction/exhaust valves and heading for the fuel injection valve 2 is formed in the wall of the cylinder head 11, the base end side of the cooling water introducing route 21 is communicated to the cooling water route of the cylinder block side, its tip side is communicated to the water jacket 11 of the cylinder head side at the near place of the fuel injection valve 2, and the cooling water with a low temperature is directly introduced from the cylinder block side.
