PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound useful as an additive for electrolytic solutions, in which electrolytes are dissolved in nonaqueous solvents, used for enhancing cycle characteristics of battery and battery characteristics such as electric capacity or electric storage characteristic. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I (R is methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, isopropyl, n-butyl or benzyl), e.g. 1-(1-propanesulfonyl)pyrazole. The compound of the formula is obtained by reacting, e.g. (A) pyrazole with (B) the corresponding sulfonic acid chloride derivative in an amount of 1.0-1.5 mol based on 1 mol of the component A in the presence of (C) a base (e.g. triethylamine) in an amount of 1.0-2.0 mol based on 1 mol of the component A in an organic solvent (e.g. dichloromethane) at a ratio of 10-60 pts.wt. to 1 pt. component A at -30 deg.C to 30 deg.C. The component B includes methanesulfonyl chlorxde, ethanesulfonyl chlorxde, 2propanesulfonyl chloride, etc.
