PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fill by a filling valve even when a measuring means such as a flowmeter has some trouble. SOLUTION: The filling apparatus comprises bottle mounts placed along an outer periphery of a rotating body 2 at equal intervals in a circumferential direction, while a filling valve 16 is provided above each of the bottle mounts. A controller 20 always checks a position of the filling valve 16 and the bottle mount by a signal from a rotary encoder 22, and the filling valve 16 is opened at a valve-open-instructed position B for starting filling in a container. A filled amount from each filling valve 16 is measured by a signal from a flowmeter 18, wherein when it reaches a predetermined amount, the filling valve 16 is closed and filling ends. When either of the flowmeters 18 fails, resulting in measurement impossible, filling is started simultaneously with an adjacent filling valve 16, the filled amount is measured by a flowmeter 18 of the adjacent valve 16, and filling is simultaneously terminated. Thus when operation and a flow rate of all filling valves 16 have been set to the same, correct filling can be performed.
