A fibre web is dried with an apparatus comprising an endless band (3) with a good thermal conductivity, which band is installed to turn around turning rolls (4). The band (3) is heated and the fibre web (2) is arranged against the band (3) using a felt or a wire (5). By means of the heat in the band (3), water in the fibre web (2) is vaporized and the water thus vaporized is removed through the wire (5) into a space whose pressure is at most approximately equal to normal air pressure. |
