A contact blade having two parallel arms 5, is mounted in an aperture in an insulating base 1, the side of each arm remote from the other arm being formed with two spaced shoulders 6 and 7 which resiliently engage opposite sides of the base. The ends of the arms remote from the joined end are externally tapered at 9, and the lower side of the aperture is chamfered, both of these shapings facilitating entry of the blade into the base. The aperture in the base may be formed by moulding or machining. The blade may be used as a socket or as a solder tag in which case a bead of solder can be used to bridge the gap between the arms and thus secure the blade more firmly. |
