PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent closing of an oil supply port and effectively discharge air in a body inside and hydraulic route, by impeding movement of a piston when air is discharged. SOLUTION: A master cylinder has an oil supply port 13 communicating with a reservoir oil tank and an oil delivery port 12 communicating with a hydraulically operated equipment, and comprises a cylindrical body 11 filled with oil inside, a columnar piston 21 movably inserted from an opening part 17 formed in one end of the body 11, and a push rod 31 constituted by pressing the piston from the opening part 17 so as to deliver oil from the oil delivery port toward the hydraulically-operated equipment. A slit 11a or hole communicating with a body inside is formed in a side wall in the vicinity of the opening part of the body, an engaging part 21b is formed in a position opposed to the slit or hole of the piston in a condition before movement, and a lock member 32 intruded in the slit or hole and engaged with the engaging part so as to impede movement of the piston is provided.
