PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition which exhibits an excellent cleaning performance in cleaning by wiping only without leaving behind traces of wiping and which is suitable for cleaning houses or furniture by compounding a surfactant, a lower alcohol, and a chelating agent in a specified ratio and by bringing the pH of the composition into a neutral range. SOLUTION: This composition contains 0.01-2 wt.% surfactant, 3-20 wt.% lower alcohol, and 0.3-5 wt.% chelating agent and has been neutralized with an alkali agent. The surfactant may be anionic, cationic, amphoteric, or nonionic. Ethanol is preferable as the lower alcohol, and it may be denatured. Though any chelating agent, if it has a capability for chelating metal ions, can be used without any specific limitation, citric acid is especially preferable. This composition is required to be adjusted to a pH of 6-8 with an alkali agent (preferably with KOH). |
