PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide reinforced brass improved in strength without deteriorating workability such as press bendability while obviating the necessity of addition of new alloying elements, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The brass, having a composition consisting of 60-<65.0 wt.% copper and the balance zinc excluding inevitable impurities, has a metallic structure constituted of a two-phase mixed structure consisting of fineα-phase andβ-phase, excluding inevitably remaining coarseβ-phase and unrecrystallizedα-phase. In the manufacturing method of this brass having a composition consisting of 60-<65.0 wt.% copper and the balance zinc excluding inevitable impurities, raw materials to be formed into a brass composition are melted, cast, hot worked, cold worked at >=50% cold draft, and then subjected to low temperature annealing at <=300 deg.C, by which a two-phase mixed structure consisting of fineα-phase andβ-phase is crystallized out.
