A plunger urges the goods onto an underlay sheet (1) with a surface area essentially corresponding to the area of the container opening. The plunger also forms a boundary wall for this surface region and the goods are urged towards an opposite wall (12) with a pressure that ensures the goods remain suspended in the air above the container opening whilst the resilient sheet is positioned beneath the goods.
