Measuring apparatus in the form of a fitting bridle (10) for use in making equine tack includes a strap of adjustable length, the strap being made up of a first strap member and a second strap member joined by connection means (34, 44) whereby the position of the first or second strap member within the connection means (34, 44) may be adjusted to thereby adjust the length of the strap.
