A hinge for a door B closable against a fixed support face A comprises part I adapted to be fixed on the support face A and apertured to mount a hinge pin 5, and a movable part II fixed to the door B, including a slideway 9 enclosing a sprung slide 10 movable in the slideway in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the hinge pin 5, and being rotatably mounted on the hinge pin 5. In the open position of the door the slide 10 is held against sliding by the springs 14, but in the closed position of the door, on the interposition of an obstacle e.g. a sealing element C, between the door and the support face, the slide 10 moves laterally against the action of springs 14 to accommodate the obstacle. The springs may be replaced by Belleville washers or stacks of spring blades. |
