PURPOSE: An electric motor and a manufacturing method of the same are provided to perfectly and safely magnetize permanent magnets housed a rotor by forming marks representing the positions of the permanent magnets. CONSTITUTION: A disk type rotor cover(40) has marks(43) representing the array of permanent magnets(22) housed in a rotor(20). The marks(43) are formed on the outer edge of an outer surface(42) of the rotor cover(40) to display the boundary of respective permanent magnet sets. The marks(43) may be characters representing the polarity of the permanent magnet(22). In manufacturing the electric motor, the marks(43) are first formed on the rotor cover(40). Then, the rotor cover(40) is mounted and the rotor(20) having the rotor cover mounted is assembled to inside of a stator(2). Next, the permanent magnets are magnetized by supplying power to an exciting coil.
