PURPOSE: A differential device is provided to conduct a differential action and a differential limiting action in simple and light structure. CONSTITUTION: A differential device consists of a two-way conical drive frictional wheel(1) getting narrower to the both sides; two conical driven frictional wheels(4,5) getting wider along the steepness of the drive frictional wheel to both sides with two drive shafts(2,3) as a rotating shaft and installed at a regular interval with the conical slant face of the drive frictional wheel; a contacting device connecting the drive frictional wheel and two driven frictional wheels and continuously changing the connecting position of the frictional wheels; a steering angle sensor measuring the steering angle of a steering wheel; and a controller operating the contacting device with the signal of the steering angle sensor. Thus, rotational force from an engine is transmitted to drive shafts with the difference of a circumferential length between the drive frictional wheel and two driven frictional wheels.
