Apparatus and method for callback in a mobile communication system

The apparatus comprises means for receiving a callback request signal on the basis of a non-circuit-related data transfer mechanism, such as a short message signal (SMS) message or an Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) message, transmitted from a mobile station. In response to the received callback request signal the apparatus establishes a first circuit connection to the mobile station, and a second circuit connection to a third party on the basis of information contained in the received callback request signal. The apparatus then bridges the first and second circuit connections.
