TRANSMITTING POWER CONTROL CIRCUIT OF BASE STATION

PURPOSE: A transmitting power control circuit of a base station is provided to minimize a mutual interruption between base stations and maintain a uniform speech quality by dynamically measuring and controlling the power of a transmission signal of a forward channel transmitted from a base station to a mobile station. CONSTITUTION: A frequency up-converter(1) converts up an intermediate frequency(IF) signal of a forward link of a base station to a transmission frequency signal and outputs it. A high power amplifier(HPA)(2) amplifies the power of the transmission signal outputted from the frequency up-converter(1) as high as a predetermined power. A directional coupler(3) couples the transmission signal to measure a power strength of the transmission signal amplified by the HPA(2). A band pass filter(BPF)(6) filters a certain band of the transmission signal outputted through the directional coupler(3) and radiates it externally through a transmission antenna. A detection circuit(5) converts the transmission signal coupled by the directional coupler(3) to a DC signal by using a Schottky diode. An A/D converter(6) converts the DC signal converted by the detection circuit(5) to a digital signal. A controller(7) monitors and controls a power level for the transmission signal of the forward channel transmitted from the base station by using the digital signal converted by the A/D converter(6). A comparator(8) compares the DC signal converted by the detection circuit(5) and the control signal outputted from the controller(7), amplifies it and outputs a DC signal, a substantial control voltage, to the frequency up-converter(1).
