摘要 <p>PURPOSE: A device for controlling a magnetic head flotation of a hard disk drive is provided to simultaneously detect a longitudinal flotation displacement and a lateral flotation displacement caused by fine impact or vibration. Therefore, it is possible to positively control a flotation displacement of a magnetic head in read time, and to prevent an abrasion and a crash of the magnetic head. CONSTITUTION: The first sensor(250) senses a longitudinal flotation displacement of a suspension(240). The second sensor(260) senses a lateral flotation displacement of the suspension(240). A control circuit(290) is connected with the first sensor(250) and the second sensor(260), and generates a signal for correcting the displacements of the suspension(240). An actuator(280) for a magnetic head flotation generates a corresponding driving power in order to correct the displacements of the suspension(240), and is installed in a leader of the suspension(240) in order to positively control a flotation location of a magnetic head. The actuator(280) is arranged in a gimbal supporting the magnetic head.</p>
