PURPOSE: A method of deciding transmitting/receiving bandwidth of a communication system is to increase the number of users without increasing of the bandwidth provided to one network of the communication system using a serial communicating network, and also minimize transmitting speed between users. CONSTITUTION: When receiving a call set-up requiring signal from a transmitting portion, a controlling portion receives transmitting speed data. The received transmitting speed data is compared with a transmitting speed of a converting portion. A minimum value among the compared transmitting speeds is served as the transmitting speed, and then set to the transmitting portion. A data generating portion is controlled by the controlling portion, based on the transmitting speed set to the transmitting portion, to transmit transmitting speed deciding data to a calling part. A communicating operation is performed at the set transmitting speed. The transmitting/receiving operation of the transmitting speed data is performed through a data line.
