PURPOSE: A charge pumping circuit is provided to reduce the layout area of a pumping circuit and increase efficiency of a charge pump. CONSTITUTION: The charge pumping circuit of a semiconductor device includes a charge pumping portion(10), a positive charge pump(20), a negative charge pump(30) and a control circuit. The charge pumping portion generates a voltage width more than a supply voltage. The positive charge pump transmits a positive charge from the charge pumping portion in response to the first control signal. The negative charge pump transmits a negative charge from the charge pumping portion in response to the first control signal. The control circuit makes a voltage being applied to the negative charge pump when a negative charge pumping operation is performed to the ground voltage level and supplies a predetermined voltage level to the negative charge pump for preventing a charge from being flowed in the negative charge pump.
