PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a COTU(Clock and Optical Transceiver Unit) in an FLC-C(Fiber Loop Carrier-Curb) system is provided to offer an apparatus to control the components of a COTU to connect an ONU(Optical Network Unit) of an FLC-C(Fiber Loop Carrier-Curb) system and an HDT(Host Digital Terminal), as installed in the ONU. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling a COTU in an FLC-C system is comprised of an address decoder/processor control unit(510), a status register/interrupt processing unit(520), and an input VPI analysis/VP output port selection unit(530). The address decoder/processor control unit(510) consists of a control register unit, a processor bus control unit, an OAM transfer unit, and a FIFO control unit. The status register/interrupt processing unit(520) is composed of an interrupt processing unit, a clock error detection unit, a status register unit, and a clock division unit. The input VPI analysis/VP output port selection unit(530) is comprised of an input VPI latch unit, a DPRAM unit, a comparison unit, a FIFO unit, a UTOPIA level-2 control unit, a UTOPIA level-2 data framing unit, and a UTOPIA level-1 control unit.
