PURPOSE: A method for automatically inserting an area code in a radio paging switching system is provided to make a caller's DDD area code automatically inserted into if the caller inputs his telephone number only when he pages a radio paging terminal. CONSTITUTION: A paging call processing unit controls a PSTN interface unit to check whether it is connected with a PSTN(601). If the paging call processing unit is connected with the PSTN, it checks whether a wide-area call is supplied through the PSTN interface unit(602). If the wide-area call is inputted, the paging call processing unit receives a caller's DDD area information from the PSTN(603) and connects with the caller through a generic telephone network(604). The paging call processing unit sends a tone or a message through the PSTN interface unit to inform the caller of paging access(605). The paging call processing unit receives a telephone number inputted by the caller through the PSTN interface unit(606). If the receiving of the telephone number is completed, the paging call processing unit stops the connection with a generic subscriber telephone(607) and connects with a visiting radio paging switching system through a NO.7 network(608). The paging call processing unit sends a message, including paging information and caller DDD area information, to the visiting radio paging switching system through the NO.7 network(609).
