PROCESS FOR IMPROVING THE PRODUCTION OF RECOMBINANT PROTEIN BY ADDING NOVOBIOCIN

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for increasing the production of a recombinant protein in medium containing novobiocin which serves as an inhibitor in phase G2 or previous phase of cell cycle. CONSTITUTION: A method for increasing the production of a recombinant protein in medium containing novobiocin is characterized by the following steps of: i) cultivating recombinant CHO strain (KCTC 0220BP) producing recombinant Erythropoietin in a medium having serum; ii) inhibiting cell growth right before cell division; and iii) moving the strain to CHO-s SFM II medium containing novobiocin and cultivating the strain to increase the production of recombinant Erythropoietin. Wherein, 0.05-1.0mM, preferably 0.1-1.0mM of novobiocin is added. The CHO-s SFM II medium is required to be replaced with new medium every one or two days.
